Cambridge ESOL application procedure

Applicants must observe the following application procedure:

1. Apply online

   Complete the 7-step online application form which includes a written assignment of between five and eight hundred words.  On receipt of a fully completed form we will contact you to arrange a date for your interview.

2. Do the interview

   Face-to-face interviews

   Face-to-face interviews may be conducted individually or as part of a small group and you should allow two hours for the process.  Depending on your course, you may be sent a number of interview preparation tasks on various aspects of the English language and language teaching methodology.  These tasks must be completed and returned to the school by email at least one full day before your interview.

   Telephone interviews

   Telephone interviews are approximately 45 minutes long and are only for people who don't live in or around Istanbul.  Again, depending on your course, you may be sent the same set of interview preparation tasks as face-to-face interviewees, plus another set of tasks that face-to-face interviewees complete at the school on the day of their interview.  Both sets of tasks must be returned to the school at least one full day before your interview is scheduled to begin but the second set must be handwritten, and therefore faxed (or scanned and then emailed).

   In both cases, the aim of these tasks is to help us assess your suitability for the course, as well as your ability to develop an awareness of language.

3. Pay the deposit

   If successful you will be offered a place on the next available course and asked to pay a non-refundable deposit to secure your place on that course.   Payment may be in cash, by cheque, or via electronic transfer, e.g., internet banking.  Bank account details are available upon request.
