What is the ITI TEFL Certificate?
The ITI TEFL Certificate is an introductory course about Teaching English as a Foreign Language which requires no previous teaching experience.
On completion of the course, you will receive a certificate issued by ITI.
The course is an excellent preparation for people interested in teaching English as a career or a hobby. It is also a preparation for prospective CELTA candidates.

A PRACTICAL INTRODUCTION TO ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING
Learn practical teaching techniques, practise with your peers and observe an experienced teacher in action.
What Does It Involve?
The course combines live online training with practical teaching experience, observation, written work and independent learning.
- Live online input sessions – learn teaching techniques and activities and how they can be applied in the classroom.
- Microteaching – practise some of the things you learn on the course by teaching your peers.
- One-hour video observation – see a real lesson being taught by an experienced teacher.
- Short practical written tasks – demonstrate what you have learned on the course.
- Online tasks – receive further input, including language awareness tasks.
- Background reading – learn more about teaching and develop your understanding of the profession.
